RED OCTOBER

We are big Cincinnati Reds fans and baseball season has begun!

For me, it all began summer of 2005. Tim and I started 'talking' and I knew he was a big baseball fan so I got an idea. What if I bought us tickets to see the Reds vs Cardinals in September?!? I stepped out on a limb and bought the tickets without discussing it with him. The plan all along was to surprise him once we got back to school.
There we were sitting in his truck and I told him I had a surprise. He quickly said, "Oh I do too!" (as he pulls out an envelope from his glove compartment) I show him the tickets and he starts laughing, "I can't believe this.... Sara, I got us tickets for the same game too!" At that moment I knew we had 'something'.
A few weeks later we made the journey to St. Louis with our friends Joel and Hayley. It was a great night filled with hot dogs, crazy fans and a great game. This was my first Cincinnati game and from that moment I became a fan!

This post is dedicated to the Reds and the amazing season ahead. So far we have swept the Brewers and tonight we play Houston. Lets have a RED OCTOBER! GO REDS GO.

Adams Family and More

Wow, this has been a busy week. Our good friends Joel, Hayley and Mia came in town so we could finally introduce Lewis to his future wife (Mia). Mia was born last August making her almost 8 months. She is precious! She sits up, rolls around, babbles and giggles- making her just as cute as can be. Mia is also very petite especially next to my king kong baby Lewis.

Joel and Tim were childhood friends. I met Joel and Hayley at Harding. We became good friends and they were both attendants in our wedding. Since then we've tried our best to get together once a year and catch up.

They came in Saturday afternoon. Sunday was busy with church and Tim had Sheperd Staff practice in the afternoon. Monday we went to Story Time at the library. (I meant to get a picture, sorry.) Mia and Lewis had a great time. That night we had Monday Night Fellowship (MNF) with the teens. While everyone played ultimate frisbee Hayley and I enjoyed the wobbly picnic table. The weather was perfect!

Lewis did a strip tease for us.

Lewis watching 'God Made Animals'... he loves that video!
Lewis sat in his exercauser for the 1st time... I think he likes the frog- what do you think?
Mia in the Johnny Jump Up.

Joel and Tim with Lewis. (Sorry the picture is sideways.)

They really liked each other.

Lewis fell asleep on his own! This was a first for us... too bad it was a one time occurrence.

Tuesday we went to the park so I could take pictures of the kids and the Adams Family.

(More Adams' family pictures to come on my website: www.randolphimaging.com )

They left Wednesday morning. We had such a good time, but I was totally wiped out!

Thursday was fablous! Tim and I went on a date... Hooray!

Looking forward to the night with anticipation.
Being a good little boy on the way to Buddy and Maurine's.
Buddy and Maurine the VERY experienced parents of 4 and grandparents of 6. Of course, Lewis is glued to the TV. You have to be careful with that boy. He's sneaky.
Every time Tim and I drive past this restaurant it's super busy, so we thought it MUST be good. Let's just say we won't be going here again.
Then we made our way over to Blockbuster.
Well we HAD to stop for popcorn and M&Ms. While we were here we ran into 4 youth group members and another church member. Good thing we were on our best behavior.

Once we made it back to Buddy and Maurine's this is how we found Lewis... sweet boy. To finish off the date we took Lewis home put him to bed and then watched a movie.

coma mama

Melanie Jones told me I am a 'coma mama'.... and it's true! It is almost a daily occurrence that Lewis has been crying for who knows how long and I'm dead asleep in bed. Now don't get me wrong I know that I'm not a bad mom I'm just T-I-R-E-D!
For example:
It's 2:30am Tim wakes up to Lewis' hungry crying and brings a screaming baby to the bed room. Tim says, "Sara it's time to feed Lewis." My response: patting Lewis on the belly and saying, "Oh, it's okay baby." Tim says, "Sara! Wake up! It's time to feed Lewis." "Oh, I'm sorry honey, what?"

A couple of weeks ago Tim comes home, as he's walking up to the door he can hear Lewis crying. He walks in and sees me passed out on the bed. Who knows how much longer that would have continued until I woke up. haha...

Another night: Tim brings a crying Lewis to the bed room... "Oh honey, I'm already feeding him." "No, your not Sara... he's in my arms." As I look down in my lap I see there's no baby although I could have sworn I'm already feeding him.

Another night: Tim brings a crying Lewis to the bed room... I have already un-snapped my bra and I'm am in the 'feeding position' sitting up and holding my arms as though I have a baby in them. Tim says, "Sara, what are you doing?" "I'm feeding Lewis." "No, you aren't I have him." He then gives me a waking shake while laughing hysterically.

Another night: Lewis and I are on the couch as I'm feeding him around 4am. I accidently fall asleep. When I wake up it feels as though it was only 10 mins so we finish the feeding. I change his diaper and put him back to bed. Once I make it back to our room I glance at the clock... it's 7:30am! (I guess it wasn't 10 mins- more like 2.5 hours! ha ha)

Another night: My good friends Casey and Beth came into town for the weekend while Tim was at Winterfest. (Thank goodness!) Even though I have my monitor on full blast Casey (not me) wakes up from Lewis' crying. She brings Lewis to my bed room. She tries to wake me... "Sara, Lewis needs to eat." "Oh, okay." I walk to the living room and start looking around- "Where's the Miller 3?" "Huh? What are you talking about Sara. Wake Up! Lewis needs to eat!" "Oh! Hey Casey. What's up?" "Sara, Lewis needs to eat." Finally I come to reality... "Oh I'm so sorry Casey." Needless to say, Casey stayed up with me to make sure I was alright and I would actually feed Lewis and not go back to sleep.

There are so many more stories like these. Tim has made me promise if something ever happens to him I will get someone to move in with me. Otherwise, Lewis might starve! (Poor baby)

Side note: Lewis is a very healthy boy weighing around 18lbs at 3 months.

(I hope these stories make sense I'm not very good at 'writing' stories. )
